Almost 30 years after the fall of the Berlin Wall, Hertha BSC started the #TearDownWallsTour to the land of unlimited possibilities. This was the first time since 1970 that the club visited the USA for sporting competition and the international development of its own brand. Liga Travel supported Hertha BSC before and during the eventful trip, also in organising the final event of the successful promotion tour.

#TearDownWallsTour – With this emotional motto the capital city club evoked the famous phrase „Tear down this wall!“ by former US President Ronald Reagan in front of the Brandenburg Gate (on June 12, 1987). Reflecting the history of the city, including the fall of the Berlin Wall, Hertha BSC was an ambassador for a cosmopolitan, tolerant Berlin. In Minneapolis, Madison, Chicago and Los Angeles the team represented integration and diversity.
Liga Travel accompanied the Hertha team throughout the entire promotional trip to friendly matches against MLS clubs Minnesota United FC (1-0) and Forward Madison FC (4-0), to meetings with other sports clubs such as the Minnesota Twins’ professional baseball team and to visits to local schools.

International Highlights

Experience international highlights with the travel partner Liga Travel

On the international US promotion tour with its extensive schedule, it was all the more important for Liga Travel to support the team with conscientious planning before the trip and flexibility on site. The carefully organised arrival and departure times and transfers within the USA, as well as selected hotels according to team-specific requirements were a prerequisite for the team to be able to concentrate on their games and other programme items in a relaxed and targeted manner.
